Report
Overview
The Report panel is the deliverable workspace. It turns graph context, Findings, Evidence, and notes into Markdown, HTML, and Pro PDF output.
It includes:
- rich Markdown authoring
- live preview
- report asset handling
- Findings insertion
- HTML export
- Pro PDF export through the Typst pipeline
- Pro configurable Typst export templates
Recommended Workflow
Write the report as the engagement progresses instead of waiting until the end. PentestPath works best when graph updates, Findings, Evidence, and reporting happen together.
- Confirm the issue in Findings.
- Attach Evidence while context is fresh.
- Insert or summarize the finding in the report.
- Use HTML export for quick sharing.
- Use Pro PDF export when you need a polished deliverable.
Findings And Evidence Integration
Findings can be inserted into the report workflow so remediation, impact, CVSS, CWE, and supporting evidence stay aligned with the session data.
Screenshot, terminal, file, note, and code evidence can be linked to Findings while you work, then referenced during drafting instead of being reconstructed at the end.
Export Paths
- HTML export: available in Free and Pro.
- Typst PDF export: Pro only.
- Encrypted
.ptpx.encexport: session package workflow, not a report PDF export.
The encrypted package flow protects a full session archive. It is separate from report export.
Typst Templates
Pro PDF export can use configurable Typst templates and saved custom .typ themes. Use this when you need repeatable client, internal, or exam-style report layout while keeping the Markdown report workflow in the app.
